Previous Experience:
November 1969: Began professional career as an adult prison institutional counselor.
1971: Promoted to Director of Institutional Counselors for all adult prisons
1972: Special Assistant to Main Prison Warden
July 1972: Appointed to first full time Tennessee Board of Pardons and Parole as Chairman. Administratively located for support purposes in the Tennessee Department of Correction. The state probation and parole officers were under the authority of the Commissioner of Correction.
1978: Reappointed as Chairman of the Tennessee Board of Pardons and Parole
July 1979: Board organized to the Board of Parole, with state parole field officers administratively responsible to the Board.
January 1986 - December 1987: Consultant with a private correctional company specializing in juvenile treatment services. Served as a consultant to the Tennessee Department of Correction regarding the Master Plan in response to federal court intervention in the operations of the state.

Other Relevant Biographical Information: Additional 21 graduate hours in Guidance and Counseling in 1971 32 hours of graduate work in Criminal Justice Administration Served on National Committee regarding Offenders Mental Health Served on Tennessee.
